The Duke or "Cone-Heid", is one of the most iconic symbols of Glasgow and truly represents the Scottish sense of humour. The Traffic cone has been up there since the 80's! Which is crazy if you think about it. The story goes that a student drunkenly climbed atop the statue one night and adorned the Duke with his iconic traffic cone hat. Despite protestations from the council and police, who removed the cone, within a couple of days of its removal, a new cone would take its place. Eventually the cone won out and it remained in many different forms (the horse gets one sometimes!) making it a much loved landmark in the city and one that bemuses many tourists...welcome tae Glasgow!

Each design starts life as an original artwork, hand-drawn by me Kym. I use Ultra Fine Pigment Pens – meaning some pieces take over 50 hours to complete! They are then scanned in at a high resolution and reproduced into high quality prints.
