The Duke or "Cone-Heid", is one of the most iconic symbols of Glasgow and truly represents the Scottish sense of humour. The Traffic cone has been up there since the 80's! Which is crazy if you think about it. The story goes that a student drunkenly climbed atop the statue one night and adorned the Duke with his iconic traffic cone hat. Despite protestations from the council and police, who removed the cone, within a couple of days of its removal, a new cone would take its place. Eventually the cone won out and it remained in many different forms (the horse gets one sometimes!) making it a much loved landmark in the city and one that bemuses many tourists...welcome tae Glasgow!

Each design starts life as an original artwork, hand-drawn by me, Kym with Ultra Fine Pigment Pens – some taking over 50 hours to complete! They are then scanned in at a high resolution and reproduced into the highest quality Giclée prints.
What does Giclée mean? Giclée means that this print is a Gallery Quality “Fine-Art” reproduction of an Original artwork. It is archival, meaning it will hold its quality for 150 years, perfect for masterpieces! It’s long lasting inks are printed onto beautiful, weighty, luxurious, velvety paper (are you drooling yet?) Basically it’s a fancy shmancy print process, on fancy shmancy paper. But as the original drawing took me many hours to complete - I’d offer nothing less for this laboriously detailed masterpiece!
